Citizens Demand Stronger Protection Against Defilement in Zambia

Lizu Community Network joined citizens across Zambia in peaceful protests against the alarming rise in defilement cases affecting children and communities.

Our message was clear: stronger legal protections are urgently needed. We called for constitutional and legislative reforms that impose stiffer penalties on perpetrators and create safer communities for children, women, and all citizens.

Violence against children cannot be normalized. It requires decisive action, stronger enforcement, and collective responsibility from government, institutions, and society.

We stand for justice, protection, and accountability.
