Who We Are
Lizu Community Network is a grassroots organisation that began as a community-led movement in 2019 in Chipata and was formally registered on 1st September 2023. The organisation exists to bridge the gap between communities and decision-makers by strengthening the ability of citizens particularly young people, women, children, and persons with disabilities to access information, engage safely in digital spaces, and participate meaningfully in governance processes.

In many of the communities where Lizu operates, civic participation is constrained by limited digital access, low digital literacy, and growing risks linked to misinformation, online exclusion, and unsafe digital engagement. These barriers disproportionately affect marginalised groups, limiting their ability to exercise their rights to expression, participation, and association. Through civic engagement, digital inclusion, leadership development, and community-driven innovation, we help build more informed, connected, and accountable societies.

Our Approach
Lizu Community Network works at the intersection of good governance, digital skills, and community-led advocacy. Our approach is practical: equip people with tools, strengthen institutions, and amplify community voices so citizens can shape decisions that affect their lives.
