In collaboration with Diakonia, Lizu Community Network convened a review meeting on the Constitution Amendment Bill No. 7 of 2025, bringing together over 10 local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for a dialogue on Zambia’s constitutional reform process.
The meeting served as a platform for collective reflection on the proposed amendments and how CSOs can jointly advocate for a transparent, inclusive, and citizen-centered constitutional review process.
One of the key outcomes was the establishment of a local CSO Consortium on Constitutional Amendments – Chipata, aimed at coordinating advocacy, simplifying complex legal texts for citizens, and amplifying rural voices in national governance debates.
As Lizu, our contribution focuses on simplifying legal information and bridging the digital gap, enabling citizens to make informed submissions both online and offline.
Together with our partners, we are working toward a Zambia where citizen participation is the foundation of every democratic reform.
