As misinformation continues to shape public perception and influence governance, fact-checking has become an essential civic skill. From April 23rd to 24th, Lizu Community Network, in partnership with Dikoding Deception, conducted a Fact-Checking for Accountability Training for 58 changemakers from Zambia and Malawi.
The training equipped participants with practical verification tools, critical thinking techniques, and strategies to hold leaders accountable particularly ahead of elections in both countries.
By building cross-border capacity, we’re strengthening the region’s collective ability to combat disinformation, promote transparency, and uphold democratic values.
