Lizu Community Network Trains 50+ Digital Advocates Ahead of the 2025 16 Days of Activism

This week marks a proud milestone for Lizu Community Network. From 17 to 20 November 2025, we successfully trained over 50 Digital Advocates from 15 countries in collaboration with Safecity, TechHerNg, and Red & Black Movement in preparation for the 2025 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, which officially kicked off today and runs until 10 December.

The training equipped young advocates, journalists, women’s rights defenders, and community leaders with practical skills in digital advocacy, online safety, storytelling, and campaign coordination. With shrinking civic and digital spaces in many parts of the world, these skills are essential for ensuring that voices especially those of women and girls are heard, protected, and amplified.

This Year’s Theme: “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls”

In line with the global theme, our newly trained advocates will be rolling out coordinated online and offline campaigns over the next 16 days. Their efforts will focus on:

  • Raising awareness on digital GBV

  • Promoting safe online practices

  • Amplifying survivor-centered messages

  • Calling for collective action and accountability

  • Sharing community-driven solutions and positive stories

These campaigns will be visible across social media and within local communities where the advocates operate.
